Only a few more weeks until summer break! Remember Troop elections will be on May 30th, and the Court of Honor on June 6th. The last regular Troop meeting of the year will be on June 20th. Summer camps start soon after, and other fun activities during the break.
Congratulations AGAIN to the BattleSnakes for "TOP SPOON" honors for the Lake Cuyamaca fishing trip during May 2012. The chefs served the judges sliders and glazed carrots. It is the THIRD consecutive honor for the patrol for being able to prepare, sernce and clean their dinner service. The BattleSnakes are clicking and firing on all cylinders using the patrol method. The judges for were SM Shinohara, ASM Johnson and Trek Leader Michael Colloca. Judges Johnson and Colloca had no idea which patrol served what dish, but announced the winning dish based upon flavor, temperature and food balance. A roar was heard from the winners (BattleSnakes) during the campfire.

Troop 500 serves the Point Loma and Ocean Beach neighborhoods and has a long history of Eagle Scout community service projects including park repair, restoration projects, treeplantings and more. Come join Troop 500 on kayak trips down the Colorado River, hiking the Grand Canyon and fishing the Channel Islands. The Boy Scouts of America provides service today and the leaders of tomorrow. Troop meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights at Saint Agnes Parish Hall at the corner of Evergreen Street and Avenida de Portugal in Point Loma.
